Refund Policy

Effective Date: May 8, 2026

Zoning Assist purchases are non-refundable except in the four narrow circumstances listed in Section 1 below: (1) verifiable data error on a pay-as-you-go report, (2) automatic refund when a report cannot deliver due to a coverage gap, (3) verifiable data error on a subscription report (issued as a service credit), and (4) enterprise contracts (per the terms of the signed agreement). Subscriptions — monthly and annual — are not refundable for any reason; cancel any time and access continues through the paid period.

2. What Counts as a "Verifiable Data Error"

A verifiable data error means a dimensional value in the report (height, setback, lot size, coverage, FAR, parking ratio) does not match the published city zoning code at the time of report delivery. To process a refund on this basis, the customer provides:

  1. The report ID;
  2. A specific value in the report alleged to be wrong (e.g., "Max Height: 35 ft");
  3. The correct value as published in the city's authoritative zoning ordinance, with a citation to the exact code section, plus a copy or link to the source page.

Once verified, we issue a full refund of the affected report (or, for subscription customers, a credit equal to the pro-rated value of the report) and update the underlying data in our database within 5 business days.

The following do not qualify as verifiable data errors and are not subject to refund:

3. Coverage-Gap Auto-Refund

When a report cannot deliver dimensional data because the GIS-returned zone code is not yet catalogued in our database, the report displays a red "Coverage Gap" banner and the customer is automatically issued a full refund within 5 business days for pay-as-you-go purchases. Subscription customers are credited a report back to their monthly quota. We treat coverage gaps as a known operational limitation that should not cost the customer.

4. Subscription Cancellation

Subscription fees (monthly and annual) are non-refundable once a billing cycle has been paid. You may cancel a subscription at any time via Account → Billing or by emailing [email protected]. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period (end of the billing month for monthly plans; end of the annual term for annual plans). You retain full access to the Service through that date and your subscription will not renew thereafter.

To avoid being charged for a renewal, cancel before your renewal date. We send a renewal reminder email at least 30 days before each annual renewal.

We prefer to resolve any concern directly. Before initiating a chargeback, please email [email protected] — we resolve the vast majority of issues within one business day. Chargebacks initiated without prior contact may result in account suspension pending resolution.

7. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Refund Policy with notice. Any change applies prospectively to purchases made after the new effective date.
